Stylistic and Artistic Features in the Verses of Praise for the Prophet in Ibn Dihya al-Kalbi's (d. 633 AH) Book "Al-Tanwir fi Mawlid al-Siraj al-Munir wa al-Bashir al-Nadhir"

Abstract

This research, "Stylistic and Artistic Features of the Prophetic Eulogies in Ibn Dihya al-Kalbi's 'Al-Tanwir fi Mawlid al-Siraj al-Munir wa al-Bashir al-Nadhir' (d. 633 AH)," aims to collect the verses of prophetic praise found in the book and categorize them according to their meanings:

- Praising the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by extolling his noble qualities and praising his family and tribe (peace and blessings be upon them).

- The poet of the eulogy was influenced by the advent of Islam, and his language was influenced by the Holy Quran and the purified Sunnah of the Prophet, reinforcing his own meanings and ideas.

- The prophetic eulogies employed poetic imagery to express feelings and emotions, using three types: simile, metaphor, and metonymy.

- The poetic language of the prophetic eulogies combined ease of expression with sound structure. - Praise of the Prophet was not personal like love poetry or elegies, but rather poetry expressing a radiant spiritual purity and sincere faith.

- Praise of the Prophet was characterized by a precise thematic unity.
