Abstract

Every official and manager in educational institutions seeks personal or acquired experiences and skills to apply in their work. This research highlights the most important of these among managers of educational institutions, identifying which have the greatest impact on raising their professional level according to scientific standards. The manager is the fundamental pillar of the educational process, which cannot advance unless the manager possesses the necessary experiences and skills. Although this research is not the first study of its kind, it complements previous studies, covering aspects they did not fully address, by describing the optimal experiences and skills of a successful manager. The research aims to demonstrate the impact of administrative experiences and skills on developing the educational process, identify the most important skills managers should possess, and reveal the role of planning, organization, communication, and decision-making in improving administrative and educational performance, in addition to clarifying the traits of a successful manager in light of scientific and Islamic standards. The research found that the most important experiences and skills include communication and interaction, technical expertise, planning, sustainable education, curriculum development, evaluation, change and development, human and public relations, and teacher development and teamwork. It also showed that organization was among the skills the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized, for its role in achieving goals and strengthening cooperation. The research concluded that a successful manager must possess personal, professional, academic, cultural, and administrative skills, along with expertise in change management, grounded in the foundations of Islamic administration: strength, trustworthiness, piety, justice, good role-modeling, consultation, kindness, and mercy toward those under one's care.
