Al-Bahnasawi approached sound from physiological, physical, auditory, and functional perspectives, and categorized phonetics into articulatory, acoustic, auditory, and experimental branches. The study addresses segmental and suprasegmental phonemes and their role in meaning, as well as phenomena of sound change, assimilation, and dissimilation. It concludes that Al-Bahnasawi’s work successfully bridges theory and practice, integrating authenticity with modernity, and recommends utilizing his frameworks in education, linguistic technologies, and comparative studies.
