Abstract

Cultural Globalization Theory as one of globalization theories explains how cultural ideas, beliefs, and behaviours can spread from one country to another. It means that people all over the world have adopted the same cultural practices and beliefs. This paper explores how Ishiguro’s novel, A Pale View of Hills embodied the effect of global culture on family relations and the ways in which each member of the family react towards the change after world war the second and defeat of Japan, there is a kind of cultural conflict between the traditional Japanese culture and the global culture leads to deconstruction of stereotypical  Japanese family and  contradictions between the past and present, the clash between contemporary and traditional way of life and thinking that form culture.
